Waterless lithography plates.

CPM Visiting Artist Workshop

Workshop at CPM Studios 2011
With Geraldine Berkemeier and Gary Shinfield

In April 2011 Geraldine Berkemeier and I conducted a two-day workshop for Community Printmakers Murwillumbah in Northern NSW as part of the activities of the CPM National Print Prize held at the Tweed Regional Art Gallery.

Geraldine worked with the technique of waterless lithography on aluminium plates, and I worked with woodcuts using Finnish birch wood. We also introduced the technique of staining various Asian papers with watercolour washes. Participants produced images combining different approaches. The theme for the workshop was the river, and inspiration and different ideas developed with reference to the Tweed River.
